Haiku is a poem written with (sort of) 17 syllables. But it’s also 17 seconds. That is the amount of time when something catches your attention (sight, sound, whatever it may be) and stops you in your tracks. The time it takes to gasp at the wonder of the world. That is a Haiku moment.

A Haiku moment is also the experience of writing the poem.

It is also the moment the reader experiences. Taking in the words and creating their own internal experience.

All three of these distinctions are haiku moments.
