Dresden Holden L.Ac. - orthopedic acupuncture

Orthopedic acupuncture is an acupuncture specialty that integrates traditional techniques with a deep understanding of the musculoskeletal system and trigger-point/motor-point theory to support structural alignment and functional mobility.
Dresden works with clients experiencing acute, occasional, or long-standing musculoskeletal discomfort. Many patients arrive after trying multiple approaches, including physical therapy, pain management, or even orthopedic consultations, yet still feel limited. Orthopedic acupuncture offers a gentle, effective next step in the healing process.
This style of acupuncture is especially helpful for chronic or acute pain, sports injuries, soft-tissue strain, postural imbalance, and both pre- and post-surgical recovery. Dresden blends motor-point and trigger-point needling with traditional meridian theory to restore balance, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural repair mechanisms.
Each session may also include complementary therapies such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, infrared heat, and hands-on bodywork. These therapies are chosen to enhance circulation, reduce tension, and encourage deeper healing.
cupping therapy

Fire cupping is the use of hand blown glass cups to create a suction on myofascial tissue. Used as an adjunct treatment to relieve muscle tension, bound fascia, increase blood flow, move stagnant lymph fluid, calm the nervous system and improve the flow of energy in the meridians.
Cupping can be added on to any acupuncture appointment, please request when making your appointment. Some patients prefer cupping over acupuncture and these appointments are booked as 30-minute sessions.
