What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a modality that uses small sterile stainless steel needles to stimulate meridians in the body to create balance and healing. Meridians are pathways that run shallowly in the muscle and fascia layer. Acupuncture is a safe and effective form of treatment to address countless ailments while remaining inexpensive and free of side effects.

How many treatments will i need?

Everything in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) depends on each case. For more chronic cases it can take 8-10 treatments, for acute cases it may be around 6 treatments. It depends upon how quickly one responds. Consistency is key, especially when trying to correct a chronic imbalance. With orthopedics we will likely discuss alignment issues and stretches to incorporate in order to expand results.

What is the first treatment like?

Your first appointment will include a discussion about your health history, goals and a review of any current labwork you have. We set aside an hour and a half to assess and have your first acupuncture treatment. Most people report acupuncture to be painless and relaxing. You may feel tired after your first treatment, and until you get acquainted to how your body reacts to bodywork we suggest to not plan on strenuous work immediately after a treatment.

What are virtual health consultations?

There are many things to discuss and discover about at-home-care. During a virtual consultation we will discuss your health history and goals, current practices and ways we can maximize home health potential. Ideas include food as medicine, herbs, movement, meditation, journaling, and self body care such as gua sha, facial rollers, and stretching. Herbal remedies are prepared and shipped directly to you with instructions and guidelines. When we establish our virtual consult dynamic we will be in close contact to make sure you are able to find a flow that benefits you. My goal as a virtual health practitioner is to support you on a path of self-healing. :) I have seen the power of these practices in my own life and with many clients. Sometimes all we need is a guide to help us sift through the information and support us on our journey.

What If I don't know how to use my new gua sha tool and roller?

Information is put out on our website and social media accounts with simple how-to's and instructions. You can also email dresden@dresdenholden.com for further assistance. We want to make sure you put this tool to use! It's too good to leave in a drawer.

What is your return policy for products?

Due to the nature of the products, we do not accept returns. All items purchased are final sale. If you have any issues at all, do not hesitate to contact us and we will take care of you.

What are your environmental sustainability and waste reduction efforts?

Dresden Body + Wellness came out of a desire to move toward a natural and zero waste lifestyle. This line of products was born from a dedication to reduce exposure to unnecessary chemicals. We strive to reduce waste, this means your packaging is simplified and often reused. Think about all the card board and bubble wrap being shipped to our doorsteps daily. We want to limit this excessive consumption. The ingredients in each product (oils, essential oils, herbs, etc) are organic, fair trade when available, mindfully chosen and of the best quality. So we ask for you to keep waste-reduction in mind while walking through your day and rest assured you are supporting a company with this, and your health's best interest at heart.
